After listening to the Ted Ed talk on metaphors by  Jane Hirschfield I thought I would look up some lesson plans for metaphors.  Voila

There are many lesson plans here for the English language teachers here.  After clicking on classroom resources in the top left hand corner, I typed in "metaphor" in the search box.

I then went to the second page of results where I found an interesting lesson on Stairway to Heaven: Examining Metaphor in Popular Music.  Not sure if Led Zep is popular music but you could use this lesson plan for any type of music.  See the lesson plan by clicking here.
