Concert TIckets and Algebra

From Mr. Miller.  A typical text book math question is A ticket agency sells tickets to a professional basketball game.  The agency charges $32.50 for each ticket, a convenience charge of $3.30 for each ticket, and a processing fee of $5.90 for the entire order.  The total charge for an order is $220.70.  How many tickets were purchased?

You could do a similar question with your class by photoshopping out a screenshot from TicketMaster after going through and pretending to order concert or sporting or tickets to the theatre as shown below.

Happy Thanksgiving
Notice Mr. Miller photoshopped or painted out the number of tickets.  Now your students can do set up the algebraic equations and then solve.  Note that setting up the equations is a key part of how they can be marked.  Then you can reveal the answer.
