As a librarian I used to use March Reading Madness. I would have the top 64 read books read from our library that year and set up a bracket. You can see the article I wrote about this here.
Then I would use odds based on the number of times a book was taken out and then have a student use the random number generator on their calculator to figure out which book would win. Each day the winning book was announced and I would adjust the big bracket I had in the library. It was pretty cool. In this article their are 6 other ideas to use.
