International Day for the Abolition of Slavery

The United Nations has declared December 2nd to be The International Day for the Abolition of Slavery.  I thought you might want to see the following video by CNN  about Migrants being sold as slaves in Libya.

Biodiversity Day on Monday

May 22 is Biodiversity Day.  I thought I might want to show your class this interactive by CNN on Monday in honour of the day.  To see the page click here.  On May 22, 2013 I made a post about Biodiversity Day.  You can see that post by clicking here.

CNN and Current Events

One last site that you might want to use for current events.  CNN Student News has a 10 minute video everyday about whats in the news. This could be used as a bell ringing activity in your Current Events class.   You can also put in the comment section the name of your school, City and State ( or Country ) and during the broadcast they will post a few schools during their Roll Call.  Only one per school please.  To see the website click here.
