1 year - What has changed?

Happy Birthday Dedo.  I could post about things like hearts and chocolates and wish my wife and kids a Happy Valentines Day (so Happy Valentines Day to family H)  but it is also one year since the Marjory Stoneman Doughlas high school shooting.  This is a repeat of what I posted last year but I think is very important.

Thanks Mr D for showing this to me.  Vice News had an article along with the 7.5 minute powerful Youtube video showing dots to animate students. teachers and the shooters movements in real time.  The shooter is a black dot with the line showing the direction of the gun.  The green dots are students or teachers.  The yellow dots are people that have been shot and the bluish dot are deceased.  It is a powerful video and shows teachers and students much to think about.  Get out of site lines of the door is number one in my opinion and get out of the hallway is number two.

How Many People Have Been Shot In Your Neighbourhood?

This article by Chris Kirk and Alex Yablon includes a map that shows all the locations of shootings in America this year.  Over 30 people die every day from gun violence and 200 are injured daily.  Just blows my mind.  You can put in an address and check out all the shootings.  You can zoom in and check out certain neigbourhoods.   Check out Detroit, Chicago, New York or LA.  Below is a picture of shootings near Windsor.  All the red ones are fatal.  You can click on the "bullet" (pun intended) to get information about that shooting.  The green bullets are clusters that contain multiple shootings this year.  Some of these could also be fatal.
