The Great Depression
Are you teaching about the Great Depression in your History class? I remember watching a video produced by PBS called "Surviving the Dustbowl". I just noticed that they have a Teachers Guide for this documentary. You can see it by clicking here. The DVD can be bought from PBS by clicking here.

Food Capitals of Instagram
I am not sue if this fits in with a Geography class or a Foods & Nutrition class but I thought it was pretty cool. Just click on your favourite food and you will see an interactive map that shows some great geographic application of social media data. For example I picked Pierogi and it shows a map of the top tagged areas of the world as shown on Instagram selecting Pierogis. It also has a list of the top 5 cities also. 123D Circuits
This is a free site from Autodesk. Your students and you can connect circuits on a simulated breadboard and test them. They can learn to measure current or other things with a simulated multimeter. There are many crossword builders out there but here are a few.
1) Edhelper has a free crossword builder that you can enter up to 30 words. Click here to go to their site.
2) Just Crosswords has free builder and over 300 categorized crosswords for you.
3) ReadWriteThink also has a free crossword builder and is a great site for reading across the curriculum. I posted previously about this on February 5 2013 but I thought I would re-mention this one.
4) Armoredpenguin's builder allows you to print out a key and decide on the dimensions of the puzzle.
