Fire Lab
If you teach science you might be interested in Fire Forensics produced by Underwriters Laboratories. According to their website "Join us at UL’s Fire Lab to work side by side with fire scientists through a series of videos, interactive tools and experiments. You’ll learn how fire is defined, how it develops, and how the evidence left behind suggests how and where it started. Once trained, you become the fire investigator who determines the cause of a fire using the scientific method to establish a claim based on evidence from the scene!"

Interactive Periodic Table in Pictures and Words
I posted last month a couple of very good sites about interactive periodic table sites. To see them click here. This is another one but it is not as fancy in a good way. It shows a picture of a common everyday item that the element is used in and a basic description of the element. To see the website click here. You might also go to their home page and scroll down to see some of the other things they offer like element cards and other printables. If you would like to see the other posts I have done on periodic tables just type "periodic table" in the search box in the top left corner.

PTable - Interactive Periodic Table
Last week I posted about an interactive periodic table game, click here to see that post. Today I am posting about another great Periodic Table website that Mr Dupuis at my school told me about. This interactive site allows you to mouse over an element and you will get different information based on what tab you are in. Information such as Properties, Orbitals, Isotopes and Compounds. If you are in the Wikipedia tab and click on an element you will have a little box pop up with a Wikipedia entry on that element. To see the website click here.

When I taught math, I would use the question for a bonus mark. The first person that had their name on the list and could also explain to me how they got their answer would get a bonus mark. The website can be found by clicking here. Yours truly made had one of the top 10 quickest answers up this week.
