Free Comic Strip Makers For Students

There a million different ways to have students at all levels use a digital comic strip in your class, no matter what you are teaching.  No, I can't use it in my physed class.  Yes do you teach health?  Science, what did one cell say to another during Mitosis?  Let your kids figure out the ending.  Math, okay that might be tough but I am sure someone smarter than me could figure it out. These would be great in ESL or ELL.  Maybe as a final summative evaluation.  The sky is the limit.  Here are a couple free comic strip makers.  To read the article click here.

If you used an idea from this website then buy Mr H a gatorade :)  Thank you

Summarize

Here are two websites that you can copy and paste a large article into and it will return a summarized version.  I know that we want students to do this on their own but sometimes when they are looking for material for a project if the document is too long they will not read it.  This way they might check out the summary to see if they should read it.  To see these sites click here for smmry and click here for summarize this.

Absolute Value Project

Jelly Beans Graph

I was at Growing Exponentially and saw this project that had people guess the number of  jelly beans in the jar.  She put the results in  a spread sheet and plotted the difference of the guess from the correct answer.  She then had her students make up their own project.  Check out the site and the student projects by clicking here.

Pop Art Group Project

I was on Artyfactory.com and noticed this collaborative art project.  First you must come up with a template for the piece of art.
Pop Art Group Project - Creating a Template
Second is to cut up the template.

The third step is that each individual colours their own section.

The last step is to reconstruct the image.

Famous Artist Research Mobile

Miss L's Whole Brain Teaching
On January 8 2016 I posted about "Ceiling Decorations in Your Classroom".  To see that post click here.  Today I noticed on a defunct blog by Mrs L that she had her students make mobile's of Famous Artist as part of a project.  The finished projects with all the information on the back of the art was laminated and hung from her ceiling.  I thought of the post from January immediately.  To see her website click here.
