Canada and The First World War

If you are teaching about Canada's role in the First World War or WWI in general you might want to look at the Canadian War Museums website.  They have many resources you might find useful in your class.  They even have an interactive adventure called "Over The Top".  Their online exhibition currently is "Canada and The First World War".  It includes a Teachers Resources section.  To see the website click here.

Echoes of the Great War

The US Library of Congress has an online exhibition about World War 1.  Much is from a US perspective but some is also from a world wide perspective.  There are many galleries with video and audio artifacts.  These artifacts would be great to use in class.  You might just want to use the 15 videos in the multimedia section.  To see the website click here.

Canadian Wartime Propaganda Posters

Most people think other countries only had propaganda posters.  Well we had them in Canada during both WWI and WWII.  It is interesting to see them.  Maybe you could have your students make their own using digital media or draw them.  The following is from the War Museum of Canada.  To see more click here.
