Mind Mapping and Concept Mapping is not a new concept but sometimes we forget to use this for our students that are for the most part visual learners. I posted about a couple sites before for Mind Mapping. To see that post click here. Another one is Coggle. See the video below on how to use this free site. To see the website click here.

Memrise
Memrise is a tool to learn many different subjects. It is part flash cards for review or learning. It is part quiz. I like this tool. There a many premade categories with subtopics ranging from languages to science, math, history etc. You can even make your own. For example I looked under languages and found Ukrainian. There are many science and math ones.
Memrise will give you one "term" with a definition then when you are ready you will get a second "term" and its definition. After that you will be quizzed. More "terms" and more quizzing. You get the picture. I used "terms" in quotes as it could be a new word in Spanish, or a new word in Biology or a new graph in Functions etc. Check it out by clicking here.

Student Handouts
Studenthandouts.com has many handouts at many grade levels in many subjects. Even though most of them are at a grade school level, many of them will work in the grade 9-10 level in high school. To navigate just look on the left side of the website to your subject. As of now science does not have much but history looks good. To see the site click here.

Super Heroes in the Spanish Classroom
I saw this one on Catharyn Crane's webpage. If you are teaching Spanish she has a list of a bunch of Super Heroes names in Spanish. She also has a game that she plays at the bottom of her post. The first two are games on her teacher pay teachers page that cost a couple bucks for the digital download but the third one is free. You can see her post by clicking here.

Radio Garden - An Interactive Map of Radio Stations
This interactive map of the world shows green dots where they have radio stations you can click on to hear. It could be great in a French or Spanish language class to click on a station in Paris or Barcelona or Quebec City or, well you get the idea. You might want to use this in your Music class or in an Current Events class to tune into a station near a location of interest you are discussing in class. Enjoy. To see the website click here.

Pic4Carto
If you are looking for some Creative Commons street level pictures of someplace you are studying in History, Geography, Current Events or even the setting in a realistic fiction novel you can try pic4carto. It is a site that lets you zoom in on an area and then you pick a grid area of the location you are interested in and it will show you all the Mapillary, Flickr, Wikimedia Commons, etc pictures available for that area. Each grid area has a number on it that represents the number of pictures available for that area. Give it some time to load the stats of the number of pictures as it take a minute. Proprofs
I saw a student studying for her Biology. I had mentioned Purposegames in December on my blog before for this but this site looks pretty good too. There are many different topics and the tests look fine. Now you can pay and make your own tests but just to get your students a place to review this site will do fine. To see the site click here.

I then clicked on Belgium and dragged it over to Canada and placed it near my home town and then zoomed in on it.
