It is almost March and you know what that means! March Reading Madness. Dissection, you either love it or hate it. I just thought I would post another option for some of your science students. You can buy their 3D cut out models for your students to "dissect". You can print out a class set or as many as you want from their Teachers Pay Teachers site. They also include power point slides with their download. To see their site click here. History with Tom Richey
I have discussed his website in the past. To see them click here and here. He does such a great job that I think I need to point out his website again. For teachers he posts many power points for history courses for free or very minimal cost. I am talking $7 for a set of 7 really good power points. For students and teachers he has some great study guides and videos. Search around his website and you will NOT be disappointed. To see his site click here.

Would You Rather revisited
On November 6 2017 I posted about "Would You Rather". To see the post click here. I thought I would post about John Stevens blog that dwells into some of these Would You Rathers. If you teach mathematics you might want to look at the Would You Rather website but also Chris Hunter's blog. To see his blog click here. He also has an interesting twitter account. You can see it by clicking here.

Pinetools - Censor faces on photos
I needed to post a picture of my library with some students hard at work but wanted to blur any faces for anonymity. I found a nice website that not only blurred faces but had many other tools available.
To see the pixelator click here. If you want to see all the other things other than image alteration tools click here.

Wireless Philosophy
If you teach a course that involves logical fallacies, you might want to check out wireless philosophy. They have many well produced animations to show such topics as: critical thinking, ethics, the history of philosophy, the philosophy of religion and political philosophy. Take a look by clicking here. I would also like to wish my wife a happy birthday.

Rewordify
According to Teachers First, "Rewordify helps you understand what you read. Paste any text or website into the box to rewordify the text into simpler language. Easier to understand words replace difficult text shown with highlighting. Click on the highlighting to view the original, more difficult word(s). View excellent student and teacher demonstrations showing how to use the website. You have the option to choose how Rewordify displays the results using the options in the settings. Several options allow for easy personalization of results". To see the rewordify website click here.
If you have different level readers in the same class, this might be a quick way to differentiate what they are reading. Just copy and paste the text in the yellow box. If you are teaching ESL/ELL students this site might come in handy.

Math, Science, Music
Maybe the site should be labelled Music Math Science but it is worth looking at. From their site, "For Herbie Hancock, the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and Chairman of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, inspiring young people to learn about math and science through music has been a life-long dream. For him, there is a profound connection across the disciplines and a way to ignite passion for challenging concepts through music. This was the foundation of the project of Math, Science and Music." Respectfully Disagree
If you are teaching a controversial topic or something where students might vehemently disagree with the other person discussing their opinion, you might want to look at this site from Teens Health. You might also want to look around their website if you teach Food, Fitness or Health class as they have information there also. If you teach Spanish, you can click on the "en español" box to get the article in Spanish.
